Why should we videotape our wedding?
There are many reasons why you should capture your wedding on videotape. The best reason we can give you is by asking you these simply questions; "What would it be worth to you to have a DVD of your parents or grandparents wedding day?" "What would it mean to you to see and hear your parents first dance or your grandparents say their vows?" Video can capture the timelessness of your wedding day like no other medium.
Do you use professional equipment?
Absolutely. We use top-of-the-line, 3-CCD video cameras from Canon. For audio we use several wireless recorders to unobtrusively capture the ceremony. Your event will be edited on a fully digital, non-linear editing system for the highest quality possible.
Will you be discreet when shooting our event?
When we shoot any event, the couple is always foremost in our minds. This is their day, and though we are there to capture the events as they unfold, we feel a great responsibility to be as inconspicuous as possible.
Do you use extra lighting during the ceremony or reception?
Never during the ceremony. We will, however, use some on-camera lighting at the reception, due to the general dimness of the lights in these locations.
How will you be dressed for our event?
Professionally, from head to toe. In most cases, attire is a dark suit, shirt and tie to blend into the background as much as possible.
Do you come to the rehearsal?
Yes. No matter how many times we have shot in the same location, we always make a point to come to the rehearsal. Every event is unique, and the more we can plan ahead of time, the better product we can give you. This also gives us a great opportunity to meet everyone involved in your special event.
Can you cover the rehearsal and/or rehearsal dinner ?
Yes. The rehearsal is often one of the most lighthearted moments of the entire event. The excitement in the air is almost electric as everyone realizes the big day is less than 24 hours away. Capturing these great pre-wedding moments always makes the final DVD that much more special.
What is "Pre-ceremony" coverage?
Pre-ceremony coverage includes any coverage taken prior to the ceremony, the day of the wedding. This falls into two categories; coverage at the event location, such as the wedding party getting ready in rooms at the church; or, coverage away from the event location, such as when a bridal party has their hair, make-up and prep done at home, a hotel room, or a salon. We would be more than happy to discuss capturing either or both of these moments from your big day.
What is "Post-ceremony" coverage?
Post-ceremony coverage includes any coverage taken after the ceremony and before the reception, the day of the wedding. This falls into two categories; coverage at the event location, such as the wedding party having photos taken inside the church once the guests have left; or, coverage away from the event location, such as when the wedding party stops by a local park or fountain to have photos taken before going to the reception. We would be more than happy to discuss capturing either or both of these moments from your big day.
What is a "Highlights Montage?"
Imagine all of the big events of your day, presented in a beautifully edited music video. Simply put, this is the Highlights Montage, one of our most requested creatives. Many couples watch their entire ceremony and reception on their anniversary date. However, the Highlights Montage is what you'll go back to time and again to share your special day with friends and family. The length of a montage will vary between 6-10 minutes depending on the amount of coverage.
What is a "Photo Montage?"
All couples have a history leading up to their wedding day, and much of that history may already be captured on family photos. A Photo Montage uses approximately 50-75 images you have selected and beautifully combines them with music and motion. Couples may include photos of growing up, meeting, dating, special occasions, even your honeymoon, to tell your special history. Includes scanning and minor color correction. Damage restoration to photos is available but may result in additional charges.
What is a "Love Story?"
Every couple has a story to tell which is uniquely their own, and this story unfolds through the Love Story creative. Filmed at up to three different locations, and combining interviews, photos and music, each couple contributes their perspective on how the relationship came to be. Through interviews and discussions with each couple we learn the little details needed to transform your story into a visual treasure you will cherish forever. The length of a love story will vary between 15-20 minutes depending on the amount of coverage.
Can we create our own, custom package of coverage for our wedding?
Yes. Our packages are just a starting point for your coverage. Feel free to create the coverage package which best fits your needs and budget. We will be glad to assist you with this.
Will you interview the guests at the reception?
Only if requested in advance by the couple. Again, we try to work as discreetly as possible at the reception, however, we will make every attempt to interview select guests and family members upon request.
Is there a retainer fee for reserving your services?
Yes. We require 1/2 of the contracted total as a retaining fee. The balance is due two (2) weeks prior to the event date. PLEASE NOTE: You date is not reserved until a signed contract and retainer fee are received.
Can we pick the music to be used in our DVD?
Yes. Knowing which songs are special to a couple (as well as which ones to avoid) helps to make the DVD uniquely theirs. We will gladly work with you to make sure just the right music is added to your package.
We have photos of us growing up and dating each other. Can these be added to our event video?
Yes. A beautifully edited photo montage of any groupings of photos you like can be created, even of your honeymoon photos. See our Packages page under Creatives, for more details.
How much time will you spend working on our event DVD?
Typically, we will spend between 70-100 hours capturing, editing, and authoring the content for your DVD. Naturally this time will vary from project to project, and from couple to couple.
If we need to order extra DVDs for friends and family, what will the costs be?
If your event fills a single DVD, the cost will be $20 per DVD. Should your event require two (2) DVDs, the cost will be $30 per DVD set.
When will our DVD be delivered to us?
On average, the turn around is 4-6 months, though, during peak season, it could take from 6-8 months. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
